Inspirational teacher and sportsman

Alan was my rugby and sports coach & teacher at Marple Hall Grammar School in the 1970’s and was a great influence on me growing up. He imbued in me the ethos of hard work and a will to win. He was inspirational and extremely likeable with a keen humour. Sad to learn that he is no longer with us. Thank you, Alan.

Jonathan Robins.

My condolences to your family. Mr Mccinnes was a fantastic teacher of mine at Marple Hall. A dry sense of humour and sympathetic to my lack of rugby talent RIP dear sir treasured memories always. Lawrence Starkey.

A most modest man with nothing to be most about. A most generous man Derek Way
